“Poppy ‘' Papaver Somniferum- 200x Mixed Seeds. open pollinated from my garden in 2023.

Open pollinated “Super Colossal” seeds. It could be a cross with Drama Queen or an F2 cross with itself “Super Colossal” (only others open at a time). Most likely will be giant pods with white or shades of red/purple flowers.

These where the biggest pods I have ever seen.

Papaver somniferum will grow to about 60 to 90cm tall and has thick, hairy stems and lettuce like leaves. The seed pods are well-suited for crafts and dried floral arrangements. The seed pods will produce an abundance of edible blue seeds.


An absolute beautiful addition to any flower bed. The Bees love them!

Most annual varieties will readily self-seed. This mix has flowers that are up to 6" across, and produce the largest possible seed pods which are highly ornamental, they can be used fresh, or dried for winter decoration.

Simply sprinkle your seeds, press into the soil(optional), keep the water up and watch them grow!

Sowing method:Sow seeds direct or plant seedlings ( THEY DONT LIKE TO BE TRANSPLANTED ) so either thin them out as they grow or sow seed with adequate spacing

When: May in Australia, Late Autumn. The cold will snap them into growth and big seed pods will be ready by October. That being said, i have planted poppy seed late winter and have also had success (however the heat of summer will destroy a percentage of any latex on the pods, so keep that in mind. If you are harvesting. May is more ideal!

If you want to grow this medicine, these seeds will start you off :) as youll only need to buy seeds once. each plant produces thousands! This poppy contains alkaloids that are good for treating symptoms of pain. and also they have a beautiful flower, which attracts many pollinators :) everybodys happy!

PLANT IN AUSTRALIA MAY 1st! And continue sprinkling all through to June for best results . Thin them out if needed later on.
